Jeffrey Berman, AIA, ACHA Jeffrey Berman has built a firm based on the design of specialized and technically complex projects for a broad range of governmental, insitutional and private clients. A healthcare design and facilities planning specialist, Mr. Berman has been involved with the design of major renovations and modernization programs for several area hospitals. Since founding the firm in 1988, Jeffrey Berman Architect has designed projects for the American Museum of Natural History, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, The Long Island College Hospital, St. Vincent's Catholic Medical Centers, Liverty Science Park, Chase Manhattan Bank, General Electric Medical Systems, and others. The projects for these facilities include the design of research, medical, office and exhibition areas, as well as facilities and space planning services. His practice of architecture has specialized in the design of state of the art medical diagnostic imaging centers, operating suites, data processing centers, and office renovations with special communications and security needs. He is also expert in the design of facilities and environmental control systems for specialized computer and computer based equipment. Mr. Berman is the past chairman of the Health Facilities Committee of the American Institute of Architects, New York Chapter, and is a licensed Architect in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. He also holds NCARB certification. He is currently a member of the New York State Department of Health Office of Health Safety Management's Construction Standards Advisory Group. In 2000, Mr. Berman was inducted as a founding member of the American College of Healthcare Architects. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1980. _____________________________________ Bashir Zivari, AIA, NCARB Mr. Zivari joined Jeffrey Berman Architect with twenty-one years of experience in healthcare and commercial architecture as a project manager. He adds to the firm's depth of healthcare planning design and construction services. Mr. Zivari previously worked as an Associate Architect for Larsen, Shein, Ginsberg and Snyder Architects. Among his work in healthcare architecture, he has managed several renovation and new construction projects with Bronx Lebanon Hospital, including a Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program, an Infectious Disease Clinic, and a Methadone Maintenance Treatment Program Clinic. He also served as project manager for the Valley Hospital Emergency Room Expansion/Renovation and a state-of-the-art Imaging Suite Installation at Bayshore Hospital. _____________________________________ Mahbod Darvishian Mr. Darvishian joined Jeffrey Berman Architect with nineteen years of experience in healthcare and commercial architecture and project management. His exposure to a vast variety of projects, construction methods and procedures, adds to the firm’s depth of healthcare planning, design and construction services. Mr. Darvishian previously worked as an Project Manager for Larsen, Shein, Ginsberg and Snyder Architects. Among his work in healthcare architecture he has managed several renovation, new construction and planning projects with Kings County Hospital, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and Stamford Health Systems including a Comprehensive Redevlopement Plan, Urology Department Renovation and the Renovation of CT facilities. He also served as Project Manager for New England Medical Design. _____________________________________ Anushka Kalbag Ms. Kalbag follows projects from schematic design through construction documents in various projects; working on drafting, rendering, product coordination and plan aquisition. As designer and draftsperson for the firm, she makes use of her design and computer rendering skills to provide three dimensional drawings for the client; helping them visualize project spaces, as well as aid in the layout and space planning process. ____________________________________ William Moses Mr. Moses joined the design team at Jeffrey Berman Architect with a variety of work experience including property management, site inspections, construction documents, as well as extensive experience as a draftsperson. A recent graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Mr. Moses brings the latest skills in computer-aided design programs to our design team. As a result of his fluency with these programs and computer prowess, he produces intricate, three-dimensional renderings which allow enhanced visualizations of various design options. _____________________________________ Mostafa Osman, LEED® AP Mr. Osman brings varied design and construction experience to the design team of Jeffery Berman Architect. He follows projects from schematic design through construction and plan acquisition. Mr. Osman is currently working on a Guided Imagery Suite and a Angiography Suite in the Radiology Department of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center which includes the installation of a new Angiography/CT machine. His past experience in engineering along with his communication and organizational skills make him a great asset to our team. _____________________________________ Irena Pawlowska With more than ten years of professional architectural experience both internationally and regionally, Ms. Pawlowska offers a unique and innovative approach to architectural design at Jeffrey Berman Architect. While fluent in a wide array of advanced CAD programs, including Archicad and Autocad, Ms. Pawlowska complements her technical and computer expertise with varied professional experience. She has participated in all phases of design, from programing through schematics to construction and final details. Moreover, having worked as an on-site supervisor in the past, Ms. Pawlowska approches projects with a beneficial multi-layered perspective both architecturally and constructionally.
